Watch it now on BBC iPlayer: BBC Documentary featuring Klaus Schulze: Krautrock - The Rebirth of Germany

If you missed the BBC Four documentary on the rise of German electronic music and the Berlin School, you can watch it now on BBC iPlayer (but you'll have to hurry as it's available only until Sunday November 1, 2009). The documentary features electronic music supremo Klaus Schulze and other significant stars of the German electronic scene. Please note: the program contains some strong language. Also please note the BBC's Terms and Conditions permit download only within the UK.

From the BBC:
Documentary which looks at how a radical generation of musicians created a new German musical identity out of the cultural ruins of war.

Between 1968 and 1977 bands like Neu!, Can, Faust and Kraftwerk would look beyond western rock and roll to create some of the most original and uncompromising music ever heard. They shared one common goal - a forward-looking desire to transcend Germany's gruesome past - but that didn't stop the music press in war-obsessed Britain from calling them Krautrock.

Duration: 60 minutes
Available until: 2:29am Sunday 1st November 2009
